Strategically-located parks, seating areas, mature trees and plantings, and interconnected walkways give a feeling of community togetherness in a leafy, carefully-designed environment.
It's in the detail
Two years in the planning and drawing on wide international research, Richmond 2 is designed for ultimate liveability – everything has its place.

Feel secure with discreet and convenient drive-in car parking and integrated access to your home.
The local economy
The economic area within which Richmond is being developed is one of the largest economies within the Auckland area. In fact, it is a $10b economy which is larger than Hamilton’s economy – New Zealand’s fourth largest city. This underpins why the area is, from a location aspect, a smart area for development.
Growing at a rate of 3.3% per annum, there is nearly 100,000 jobs in the local economy.
This jobs growth has remained strong since 2000. It’s a jobs growth that is strong in the secondary and tertiary sectors. These are the sectors where most of New Zealand jobs have been created in the past 6 years, and the local Richmond area exhibits stronger job growth in these areas compared to New Zealand.
Of the 100,000 people who work in the local economy surrounding Richmond, just over half of them are engaged at a professional level.
FACT: of the 99,000 employees in the area 50,785 people are employed as managers, professionals or technicians.
The Richmond development presents a unique opportunity to deliver high quality housing for Auckland.
Richmond has been master-planned to produce a harmonious community, through a series of walkable neighbourhoods, connected public places, lush landscaping and tree-lined streets with car parking innovatively tucked beneath to create a peaceful and friendly environment.
Architecturally designed homes define the street edges, key intersections and open spaces. There are homes of various sizes with flexible living spaces which will appeal to the way you want to live. Each area will have its own unique style, so Richmond looks fresh from every angle.
Rich in history
The Richmond site is full of unique history. The site was originally the location of the McLennan Hills which were a series of small scoria cones.
The site was a key vantage point for local tribes during the indigenous occupation and it was a key portage route for canoes transported between the isthmus, being the narrowest point of land between the Manukau harbour and Tamaki estuary.
Quarrying of the scoria cones over the past decades has resulted in a flat site present today, and natural springs from the scoria cones are still present today.
The site has given a lot to Auckland in its past and the architecture and urban design of the Richmond public spaces seek to draw on this natural history through subtle gestures of landform and use of materials.
